moon measure

This is when I mine for miracles and grasp at every feather that falls. The sky was black when you first loved me, and the air was cold and tight.

This is when my heart races too often and my fingers regain flexible movement as they reach for what I think I’ve lost.

This is when I see you fully, and measure the distance to the moon by your heartbeats per minute.
